Preview
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) will face Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) in Match 31 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 in Sharjah on October 15th.
RCB is third in the points table with 5 wins from 7 matches while KXIP is at the bottom of the pack with 6 losses from the most matches.
KL Rahul slammed the staggering unbeaten number 132 of 69 deliveries only in Dubai – in the first match between the two teams in IPL 2020. The giant KXIP scored 206 versus 3 and cleaned up RCB for 109, recording a massive 97 wins.
The smaller stadium in Sharjah could see a big match-up – given the number of big hitters and superstars in both units.
Eleventh Punjab Kings
KXIP needs to win almost all of their matches to have any chance of qualifying – this could be the time when they could be at their best.
After starting the tournament hard, they lost 5 matches in a trot. The talented KXIP was far from an easy win over KKR in Abu Dhabi. Chris Gayle is set to play his debut IPL 2020 match against RCB – that’s the biggest news from KXIP camp. They hope Universe Boss can change the fortunes of his franchise.
Kuala Lumpur Rahul is still running, but he’s not quite as controlling bowling as before – he’s anchor and anchor and he’s seen his shot rate drop dramatically. This tactic has been shown to be counterproductive for KXIP.
But their biggest disappointment was the performance of their ultimate superstar, Glenn Maxwell. The Australian has never participated in the IPL 2020 – he just managed to muster 58 rounds in 7 runs with a strike rate of 95.08. It can be dropped to accommodate Gail.
Mohamed Al-Shami is the leading wicket holder in the competition, with 10 wickets. Chris Jordan can be replaced by James Nesham in the eleventh.
Royal Challengers Bangalore
RCB has had all-out wins in his last two matches and it looks like he’s finally starting out with all he can for the tournament. The top four are in good shape. AB continues their playmaker role in the tournament. He scored 228 points in 7 runs, of which three were game winners. What’s more important is the rate at which he scores these runs for his excellence – with an astonishing 185.36 strike rate. This separates AB from Kohli (CP 127.36) and Padikkal (PS 126.56) and this makes his performance unique and dangerous.
Yuzvendra Chahal is the trump card with the ball in the middle – he is the highest-rated striker for RCB in IPL 2020 and he’s also very tied when he’s just over 7. Chris Morris was a good late addition to the unit – he was among the wickets and given nothing in the two matches they played in the tournament.
Washington Sundar was the unknown ball hero. He throws 22 times for only 108 kicks – with an economy rating of only 4.9. He is the best in the tournament (10 times at least). The jogging dried one end to choke the batsmen in the middle.
