Rail Away comes with four new episodes, including Belgium and Denmark
This spring, EO Rail Away returns with four all-new episodes. This time the adventure begins in Switzerland. In the second episode, Belgium and its trains appear. It's Denmark's turn in the third episode. In the final episode, the circle is complete and another part of beautiful Switzerland appears.
Through the Rhone Valley in Valais
In the first episode, the viewer travels through the beautiful Rhone Valley in the Swiss canton of Valais. Two other intermediate steps are performed along the way. The viewer is transported to the Swiss mountains. We travel on two funicular railways: from Sierre to Crans-Montana and from Saint-Luc to Chandolin.
From Namur to Dinant along the Meuse River
This loop follows two routes in Belgium along the river. The small De Bocq River is spotted by a nostalgia train. Attention is also paid to Maas on this route. One of the oldest rivers in the world. A beautiful ride along the water will not bore the viewer.
Danish surfing paradise “Cold Hawaii”
New and nostalgic trains alternate in beautiful Denmark. The first route begins in the eastern coastal city of Aarhus, located on the Baltic Sea. Viewers are transported by rail to the North Sea coast, not far from the Danish surfing paradise 'Cool Hawaii'. In addition, this episode focuses on the historic train route that begins near Viborg. This cozy medieval town has been a center of Danish power for over a millennium. It was even the capital for a while and also the place where at least 37 Danish kings were crowned over the centuries.
Mont Blanc Switzerland
The circle is complete when beautiful Switzerland, known for its famous train journeys, appears again in the final episode. This episode of Rail Away follows the Mont-Blanc Express train. The route runs along the deep Trent Strait and the train makes an impressive climb towards Le Chatelard station. Once there, three short train rides await you to the beautiful Imosun Reservoir at an altitude of around 2,000 metres.
Rail Away inspires me, like many others, to explore new landscapes. This year I'm going on vacation to Denmark for the first time, where one of the new episodes was recorded. By the way, nowhere are more programs broadcast than in Switzerland. A country with amazing train routes, beautiful nature and many tourist attractions.
“Rail Away” can be watched daily starting Monday, May 13 at approximately 7:55pm on EO on NPO 2.
