The summer break for teams and drivers is over. The season continues next weekend with the Dutch Grand Prix. Daniel Ricciardo needs to score after a disappointing first half of the season and has his sights set on World Cup points.
Ricciardo was often slower than team-mate Yuki Tsunoda in the first half of the season. The Visa Cash App RB driver is currently thirteenth in the world championship with twelve points. Shortly after the Belgian Grand Prix it became clear that he could finish the season in VCARB. His future with the team was in doubt, but he was also linked with a Red Bull seat under Sergio Pérez.
In Zandvoort, Ricciardo now has to show what he is worth. The Australian is really looking forward to it, and is very positive in his Visa Cash App RB preview: “I had a great summer break. I started coming back to Australia to spend time with friends and family. I’m back fully charged and healthy and looking forward to getting back to Zandvoort. It’s where my season was turned upside down last year, but until the incident with Oscar I enjoyed the track. The car was very good and I’m confident we can maintain the level we were at before the break. Our momentum is strong and we’re definitely fighting for the points.”
