After announcing its first five brick-and-mortar stores in January of this year, Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty has now opened six additional brick-and-mortar stores in the US, the brand said on Instagram. New stores will open in Chicago, Long Island, Atlanta, Detroit, St. Louis and Newark.
In January, the brand opened its first store in Las Vegas, and stores in Houston, Los Angeles, Philadelphia, and Washington, DC soon followed suit. The announcement came in January after Bloomberg interviewed Kristen Bendarvis, co-chairman of Savage x Fenty and chief marketing and design officer. In this conversation, I announced at the time that physical stores would open in the United States, with the possibility of expanding into Europe at a later date.
According to WWD, Savage x Fenty has yet to respond to questions about when the stores will open. “Retailing provides the brand with the opportunity to better support existing followers, as well as generate new ones,” Kristian Bendervis, Co-President and Chief Merchandise Officer at Savage x Fenty, said at the ICR 2022 retail conference in January of this year, according to WWD.
Savage x Fenty was launched in 2018 as a comprehensive underwear brand for all body types. Notably, the label was best known for its annual runway show, presented via Amazon Prime, with a variety of celebrities showcasing their lingerie selections.
