Irish singer Róisín Murphy will be coming to Gachoder in Amsterdam on Friday 8 March. Róisín Murphy returns with a series of additional tour dates in the UK and Europe. Concerts have been added in Great Britain, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, Poland, Italy, Switzerland, France and the Czech Republic.
In her impressively diverse career, she is constantly pushing boundaries, both in her songs and in her live performances. Her ability to be a constantly innovative artist is amazing in itself. From live-streamed lockdown events to headline shows at Glastonbury West Holts, Homeblock, sold-out Brixton Academy, Coachella and Primavera Sound, Murphy proves time and time again that he is an eventful artist in every sense of the word. Murphy’s live reputation grew following her critically acclaimed and sold-out headlining show at the Royal Albert Hall.
During the upcoming tour, fans can experience the long-awaited new album “Hit Parade” in a live setting. The 13-track collection of cross-genre songs is available now and is produced in collaboration with electronic music virtuoso DJ Koze. With this new album, Murphy continues her evolving 30-year career.
Through a chance meeting with bassist Mark Brydon, Róisín Murphy became known in the 1990s as one half of the electro-pop duo Moloko, with which she recorded songs such as “Sing It Back”, “The Time Is Now” and “Fun For”. I’. In 2003, she went solo, and from there, Murphy’s solo career has included five acclaimed albums (with a 2015 Mercury Music Award nomination for “Hairless Toys”), acclaimed EPs, solo collaborations, and, most recently, awards for video directing and acting.
