Russia launched 33 drones and two missiles at Ukrainian targets in the north and south of the country on Wednesday evening. This was stated by the Ukrainian Air Force in a message on Telegram. According to the Air Force, 22 drones were shot out of the sky, and a number of drones still failed to reach their target.
Russia has intensified its air strikes on Ukraine in recent weeks. Hence, it is trying to exhaust the Ukrainian anti-aircraft system. Therefore, Ukrainian President Zelensky has repeatedly urged his allies to provide additional military support.
The two missiles were launched from Belgorod Province. That city recently became the target of several Ukrainian air strikes. Yesterday, local authorities announced that they were taking additional safety measures. For example, shops must close at 8 p.m. Civilians were also evacuated from the area earlier.
The Ukrainian army announced that one person was injured in the city of Kherson in the south of the country as a result of attacks last night. A number of agricultural businesses and several residential areas were reportedly hit and damaged.
