UTRECHT Daphne Schippers did not make his 100m debut at the athletics event in Geneva on Saturday. The Utrecht athlete finished fourth with a time of 11.25 beating her personal best of 10.81.
Schippers had to tolerate three Swiss runners. Mugenga Kampunge won at 11.07.
On Thursday, Schippers ran for the sixth time in the 200 meters in the Diamond League in Florence on 23.03. The 2015 and 2017 world champions missed out on this distance by almost a second for British world champion Dina Asher-Smith, who clocked 22.06 hours.
The Utrecht athlete, silver medalist in the 200 meters in 2016, is eagerly looking for more speed. The Olympics start in about six weeks, so time is running out. At the FBK Games last Sunday, she ran 11.15 in the 100m and was also well behind Asher Smith, who won in 10.92.
