Eindhoven – Sylvia Van S will become Philips President in the Netherlands from 1 July. I took over from Hans de Jong, who retired after more than 35 years working for Philips.
Currently, as Senior Vice President of Philips Legal, Van Es is responsible for legal support for all Philips activities worldwide. She is also the Chief Privacy Officer at Philips.
In the new position, Van Es Philips will represent the Netherlands at the national, regional and local levels, and with governments and employers’ organizations and in various partnerships. It will also represent the company on employee participation bodies.
“During his long international career, Hans made an important contribution to Philips in various positions,” says CEO Frans van Houten. “We are very grateful to him for his commitment and role in the transformation of Philips over the past ten years in the Netherlands. I am delighted that with Sylvia we have a strong successor with extensive experience within Philips and the experience needed to fill this important position in the Netherlands.”
