South Park has been very popular for years. The manufacturers are now signing a huge new contract and going after The Simpsons.

but that is not all. In a new deal with ViacomCBS, it has been agreed that the South Park makers will also add 14! To make movies exclusive to the streaming service Paramount +. This service is not in the Netherlands yet, but it will most likely reach the Netherlands in the future. The first two films of this year are already planned.

There seems to be a lot of work, but the South Park makers are paid royally. In total, they will receive $900 million over the next six years, Bloomberg reports. This makes it one of the biggest TV deals ever.

The deal is important to ViacomCBS. Because the media company is busy rolling out streaming service Paramount+. With South Park, of course, it has a huge franchise on its hands that the public can draw.

Paramount+ wants to pack a punch. For example, the streaming service is coming up with a new series of the popular sitcom Frasier. In the US, it also managed to acquire the rights to the famous Avatar: The Last Airbender. It is possible that the streaming service will also want to move to Europe, but when exactly is still unknown.
