Formula 3 driver E.D. Vries in London
7:23 PM: Nick de Vries has reached the podium in the London e-Prix. The 27-year-old Dutchman finished third in the first two Formula E races this weekend in the English capital, behind Britain’s Jake Dennis and Stoffel Vandoorne of Belgium. Vandoorne, De Vries team-mate at Mercedes, leads the World Cup standings.
As rivals Jean-Eric Vergne and Eduardo Mortara finished 13th and 19th respectively in London, Vandoorne consolidated his lead. De Vries is 75 points behind his seventh teammate. Citizen Robin Frijns (Envision) remains sixth in the standings after finishing 16th in London.
Another race in London will follow on Sunday 14th out of 16 in the championship. The last two races will be held in South Korea within two weeks.
Two main places for Van Dijk and Aki in the Charity Shield match
6 pm: Virgil van Dijk and Nathan Ake will face each other from 6pm in Leicester in the Battle of the Community Shield, the English Super Cup. As usual, Orange captain Van Dijk is a fixture at Liverpool, who won the FA Cup and League Cup last season. Aki, who is also part of the Dutch national team, could start with league champions Manchester City from coach Pep Guardiola.

Visser had already finished third in the opening race in Miami at the start of this season. The Netherlands qualified in second place in Hungary behind Powell, who booked her first win this year from first place. Chadwick, who won all of the first six races, started from fifth. The 24-year-old Briton climbed to second in the race, but was unable to pass Powell.
Chadwick became the first W Series champion in 2019 and expanded her title last year. Wesser finished second in the championship in 2019; Last year it was eight. Chadwick is heading to her third world title with 143 points. Powell is second in the standings with 68 points, while Visser occupies the same number of points in third, and the season includes four more races, two of which will be held at the end of October in Mexico City.
Kanwest Wegmann finished seventh in the World Cup Final

2nd Place Terpstra in the American Snowshoe
10:15 am: Mountain biker Anne Terpstra finished second in the short race at the Snowshoe World Cup in America. The 31-year-old Terpstra had to tolerate only American Gwendalyn Gibson in the United States. Gibson was 2 seconds faster.
Terpstra is in second place in the ranking. The lead is in the hands of Australian Rebecca McConnell, who finished 18th in the short race.
David Nordman finished 27th in the men’s race.
Broxby beats six-time champion Isner in Atlanta
8.44 am: American tennis player John Isner will not be competing this weekend for his seventh ATP title in Atlanta in nine years. The 37-year-old Isner lost in the quarter-finals 3-6 6-1 6-4 to compatriot Jenson Broxby, ranked 43 in the world.
Isner, ranked 25th in the world, took the title in Atlanta last year and was the best there in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018. He also reached the final in 2016. He then lost to Nick Kyrgios, who pulled out at the last minute this year.
Broxby, 21, who has yet to win the title, will compete in the fourth round against fellow countryman Francis Tiafoe. This 6-4, 6-2 was too strong for Brandon Nakashima, who reached the final fight last year. The other semi-final match will be between Australia’s Alex de Minaur and Ilya Ivashka of Belarus.

Liverpool without Oxlade-Chamberlain at the start of the new season
8.33 am: Liverpool will not have Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain at the start of the new season. The 28-year-old midfielder sustained a hamstring injury in pre-season during the exhibition match against Crystal Palace on July 15.
“It’s about the hamstrings and we all hate that word. A hamstring injury happens sometimes and now it’s the bull’s turn,” said coach Jurgen Klopp, who did not say how long the midfielder would be out of circulation. The operation is not necessary.
Liverpool opens the season on Saturday with the Charity Shield match. Then Manchester City is the opponent. Fulham will be the opponent in the Premier League next weekend.
