Orchard Park, New York – – don’t think Jordan Boyer and the other members of Buffalo High School didn’t notice the Steelers ‘recipient, Joe Joe Smith Shuster, dancing the Beals’ logo in midfield during the pre-match warm-up Sunday night.
Come fourth quarter, after Levi Wallace intercepted Ben Rothlesberger to seal Buffalo’s 26-15 victory, it was Bills’ turn to burst into dancing along their sideline.
The song was playing, Boyer said, “We felt the momentum of the game’s swing,” before referring to a TikTok video of Smith-Schuster’s posted on social media.
He added, “I will not lie, I see them dancing on our logo, and this turns you on a little.” “Come play with a little extra fire. We were excited on the sidelines. We had a big win and were having fun.”
Josh Allen threw two touchdown passes, Taron Johnson intercepted 51 yards for a score, and the Beals (10-3) came close to winning their first East Asia title since 1995 and third in 4 seasons. The buffalo could clinch both early Monday night if Baltimore lost to Cleveland.
Smith-Schuster and the Steelers weren’t asked about the dance – something the receiver does before each match – afterward.
Then again, they have other concerns after losing consecutive games in six days after losing 23-17 to Washington, and pulling back in a game behind the Kansas City Chiefs (12-1).
North Asia’s leading Steelers (11-2) were able to clinch their first playoff game in three years before kick-off thanks to the Miami Dolphins’ 33-27 loss to Kansas City earlier in the day.
“We lost two. We are facing some ordeals. But we don’t hit the panic button,” Rothlisberger said.
“Offensively, we are not very good. We are not playing good football and that starts with me.” “I think this team has a lot of flexibility and understands what it takes to win football matches and understands the time of year which is now unacceptable.”
The Bills have won six of seven matches and have had no fewer than 10 of their first 13 games of the season for the first time since 1991. This is a major shift from a team that has suffered a 17-year drought – which has remained the longest streak activity in four major professional sports in North America – before coach Sean McDermott took over in 2017.
Allen said, “Ten victories, (the job) isn’t over.” “We know what we have to do.”
The Year Three player broke the match open by throwing touchdown passes 3:21 apart – 19 yards for Stephon Diggs and 13 yards for apprentice Gabriel Davis – in the first two batches of the second half to put Buffalo ahead 23-7.
The Buffalo Eruption came in the second half after Allen and the crime made six first drops and 102 yards on seven possessions.
Johnson, however, filed the offense by advancing past a Roethlisberger pass assigned to Smith Shuster and returning it 51 yards to lift Buffalo 9-7 with 52 seconds remaining in the first half.
“Our defense escalated dramatically, especially when we started out the way we did,” Allen said. “We have a lot of men who care about each other and we don’t want to let each other down. When we’re there, we put it to the test for each other.”
Allen raised his season aggregate to 35 combined touchdowns (28 assists, six bursts and one conceding) to break the team record for one season of 34 set by Hall of Famer Jim Kelly in 1991. His 28 assists are second on the team list, and five behind the number. The record for one season was set by Kelly in the year 91.
Allen finished 24 out of 43 for a 238-yard interception. Diggs had 10 grabs for 130 yards. Acquired through a deal with Minnesota in March, Diggs now has 100 catches to match the one-season Bills record set by Eric Molds in 2002.
The Steelers continue to be unlike the team that set a record for the franchise by winning their first 11 games. Pittsburgh held less than 20 points in three straight matches, and was coming out of the loss to Washington as Mike Tomlin called his team’s slow attack and reception due to their poor passes.
The match was decided midway through the fourth quarter after Tyler Bass scored a 23-yard field goal to raise the bills 26-15.
In the third Pittsburgh play of melee, Wallace intercepted Rothlesberger’s deep pass to James Washington’s assigned right side.
Roethlisberger finished 21 out of 37 for 187 yards with touchdown passes to Washington, Jogo Smith Shuster and two interceptions.
Sack bags
The Steelers extended their Case streak to 70 games in a row to break the NFL record set by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1999 to 2003.
Tyson Alwaloo was credited with Pittsburgh’s first sack of the game against Buffalo by stripping the ball from the hands of midfielder Josh Allen in the middle of the second quarter. The confusion was recovered by the Bill Mitch Morse Center for losing 8 yards.
The streak started in the eighth week of the 2016 season.
