Deutsche Telekom will update its network on March 15 to improve security standards, among other things. In Fritz! OS 7.25, AVM still uses Real Time Transfer Protocol (RTP) for IP-based telephony. Here, the media stream is transmitted without encryption, which is not allowed by Telekom security standards. The result: customers whose Fritzboxes work with Fritz! OS 7.25 They will no longer be able to make calls in Telekom’s fixed network from March 15th. However, internet usage is not affected and is still possible without restrictions.
According to your carrier, the problem only affects the said firmware. So the owners of Fritzbox have two options to respond to the update on the network.
