Deutsche Telekom adjusts mobile phone tariffs. The data volume for the different options has been significantly increased, according to a “Redaktionsnetzwerk Deutschland” report. Families in particular should benefit from this.
The idea is that additional SIM cards can be reserved for each contract. Low per capita costs. With the entry level Magenta Mobil XS offer, you get five gigabytes of data in 5G for €34.95 per month plus a flat rate for phone calls and SMS. The second SIM costs an additional €19.95. All cards other than this cost €9.95.
Telekom’s new tariffs: reaction to the StreamOn ban
Depending on their needs, customers can choose from several levels. The largest package, Magenta Mobil XL, costs €84.95 per month and includes unlimited data volume. Prices for the second and third tickets are the same for all tariff options.
Families in particular can take advantage of the new offer. However, the show is not limited to that. Telekom stresses that neither address nor family ties play a role in the reservation. This means that a group of friends or a fixed share can also use the new tariffs.
The new offer is likely to be a reaction to the Federal Network Agency’s ban on popular StreamOn tariffs. There, the data consumption of some apps is not calculated against the reserved volume. The European Court of Justice had already ruled last fall that such offers violated net neutrality.
