All iPhone 12 models will feature a new design with flat edges according to many reports and rumors, but we have yet to see an actual leaked element of this year’s iPhones. However, there is a video shared today on Twitter by YouTuber Filip Koroy, better known as everything, Shows the alleged back cover of the new 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro.
The back cover does not reveal many new details as it does not have any hardware components attached, but if it is real, it gives us a better idea of what the new iPhones will look like. The first detail that stands out is the similar finish to the iPhone 11 Pro with stainless steel edges and matte glass, which is in line with all the recent rumors.
On the back of the body we can notice a similar camera arrangement with three lenses and an LED flash, but there is also an additional aperture below where the ultra-wide camera is located – this is likely related to a LiDAR scanner.
The rumors about the LiDAR scanner on the iPhone 12 have been a bit controversial. While some reports have claimed that only the larger 6.7-inch model will get the new sensor, today’s leak indicates that both Pro models will have LiDAR technology.
There are other interesting details about the allegedly leaked iPhone 12 back cover, including the repurposed SIM tray and a new slot on the right side of the phone which could be a 5G antenna. You can watch the video below:
