Baldur’s Gate 3 developer Larian Studios is already working on its next game.
Swen Vincke, co-founder of the Belgian developer, said this in an interview with the Dungeons and Dragons YouTube channel, which can be watched below.
“Yes, I’m already working on the next match.” He explains that this is definitely possible now that the PlayStation 5 version was released yesterday. “So I’ll keep working on my next game, and the other team is working on patches and so on. But for me personally, the creative side (of Baldur’s Gate 3) is over. That chapter is over.”
There are no details yet about the new game that Larian is working on. However, when asked about his general inspiration, Finke stated that “there’s some really good stuff in there,” suggesting that the next game is also based on an existing IP, much like the Baldur’s Gate series set in the Dungeons and Dragons universe.
Anyway, Larian is still working on various updates for Baldur’s Gate 3 and the Xbox Series version of the game is also scheduled to be released later this year. Yesterday, the developer confirmed that cross-play will also be added to the game via a future update.
