Muscat: Dutch Foreign Minister Hanke Bruins Sloot will visit the Sultanate of Oman to participate in the European and Gulf Cooperation Council meeting in Muscat from October 9 to 10.
Hanke Bruins-Sloat will attend the 26th Ministerial Meeting of the European Cooperation Council and the Gulf Cooperation Council, which aims to strengthen relations between the European Union and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The Minister, accompanied by European Union High Representative Josep Borrell, will visit the European Union Naval Mission in Atlanta.
The trip will also focus on maintaining bilateral relations between the Netherlands and the Sultanate of Oman.
Bruins Sloat will meet with Foreign Minister Sayyed Badr Hamad Al Busaidi and General. Sultan Muhammad Al-Numani, Minister of the Royal Office.
For the EU-GCC meeting on Tuesday, 10 October, the foreign ministers of the EU and GCC member states will meet in Muscat.
They will discuss how the EU and Gulf states can work together in areas such as energy, humanitarian aid and security.
Hanke Bruins-Sloat will join High Representative Josep Borrell and other European Ministers on a visit to a naval vessel sailing under the flag of the EU NAVFOR ATALANTA mission.
The mission focuses on combating piracy and other threats to maritime security in the Red Sea, Gulf of Aden and Indian Ocean. These efforts help protect Dutch economic and security interests.
