The final hurdle on Tuesday is a trade agreement between the European Union and Britain
Brixi
On Tuesday, the European Parliament will vote on a trade agreement between the European Union and the United Kingdom. This is the last step before the entry into force of the hard-won agreement at the end of last year. This comes at the appropriate time, because the agreement was threatened to expire next Friday.

The treaty entered into temporary force in January pending approval by parliament. MEPs wanted more time to carefully examine the agreement. In order not to create major difficulties for trade and traffic, the agreements were already implemented in practice. Parliament was granted until April 30 to vote on the treaty.
The European Parliament’s trade and foreign affairs committees already approved the treaty by an overwhelming majority last week. The vote in the plenum has been postponed because members of the European Parliament are questioning whether London is complying with the agreements on Northern Ireland. These agreements regarding controls on goods from Great Britain are part of the agreement governing the departure of Britons from the European Union, and London is not comfortable when closely inspecting.
