“The Netherlands is the second largest investor in the United States,” Willem-Alexander emphasized. “Here in New York State alone, the trade and investment relationship with the Netherlands is good for 57,000 jobs. But it is about more than just the economy. It is also about finding answers to the major issues of our time.” , such as climate change, the transition to sustainable energy and affordable healthcare for all.
During the visit, the royal couple toured the building, including the “clean room” equipped with the ASML machine. The King and Queen also met with a Dutch business delegation in the field of semiconductors. In addition, they signed a memorandum of understanding with New York Governor Kathy Hochul to further enhance cooperation in semiconductor research, development and production.
