WhatsApp has introduced a new instant video messaging feature. Some users can already use the feature.
Germany – Big change in WhatsApp: the messaging service has introduced a new function for videos. The new WhatsApp feature has already been announced – and now early adopters can actually use it.
The new WhatsApp function has been introduced – instant video messaging is coming
With the new WhatsApp functionality, it is now possible to record and send short video messages directly in a chat. “It’s as simple as sending a short voice message,” Mark Zuckerberg, head of Meta, explains on his personal Facebook page.
As WhatsApp explains, the new instant video messages are intended to allow users to respond to chats in real time via video. Recorded videos are limited to 60 seconds – so only a short clip can be recorded and sent.
New WhatsApp feature – How to send video messages
To send new video messages, users simply need to press the button to switch to video mode and then hold it to record. Swipe up for hands-free standby mode and recording.
According to WhatsApp, short videos play silently by default when you open them in a chat. Clicking on the video will start playing the audio. In addition, new video messages are also protected with end-to-end encryption to ensure security (more news on digital things at RUHR24).
New WhatsApp feature for instant videos – it will be available to everyone in the next few weeks
The messaging service notes that with the new functionality they want to offer “an entertaining opportunity to share moments, also thanks to video, with the emotions associated with them”. For example, users can personally congratulate them on their birthday, give good news and much more.
WhatsApp previously introduced functions that make the user experience more personal. For example, presenting our avatars. The new feature for short videos has already been rolled out. Early adopters can already use it – it should be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
