The UCI is introducing a new component to the upcoming UCI World Championships in the United States. A team relay will be held for the first time at the World Championships in Fayetteville. This is a test event
The exact plan of this Team Relay is not yet known. For example, it is not clear if it is a mixed relay with men and women, as it is with the mixed team relay experience. It is also unknown if it pertains to relays of different classes, with riders of the novice, Promise and Elite classes.
The 2022 World Championships is scheduled to be held in Fayetteville, Arkansas on January 29-30. The UCI announces that the test event will be evaluated next. Next, it will be checked whether the component has the potential to secure a permanent place in the Cyclo-cross World Championships programme.

UCI will also consider options for staging the UCI Snow Bike World Cup. Snowmobile World Championships are also included in that idea. The plan is to introduce this in the 2022-2023 season. Next winter, the UCI Management Committee will present the results of the investigation into the opportunities.
