Because he was disturbed by his neighbor's Raggaeton music, one developer simply programmed an artificial intelligence that was supposed to put an end to this haunting.
no time? Blue News sums it up for you
- Instead of trying to communicate with his annoying neighbor, an Argentine preferred to program an artificial intelligence.
- This was identified when Raggaeton music was played and then countermeasures were taken.
- The goal of the barrage of Bluetooth requests was to disable the speakers.
If you're bothered by your neighbors' loud music, there are three basic options. You can ring the bell and politely ask them to stop. If that doesn't help, there are always the police. Finally, you can put an end to the panic yourself by programming an AI that will silence your speakers for you.
Argentine developer Ronnie Bandini chose the third option. His neighbor would wake him up every morning to loud raggaeton music. Bandini seems to have a particular aversion to the genre, which is very popular, especially in Latin America, because the artificial intelligence he developed only intervened when he got to know Rajiton.
Bluetooth speakers must be turned off
Bandini called his project “Raggaeton be Gone”. Using music samples, he trained the AI to recognize raggaetón. He then outfitted a Raspberry Pi 3 mini-computer with a microphone and let it listen.
If unwanted music is detected, the computer sends a stream of Bluetooth requests. This should result in the loss of the neighbors' Bluetooth speakers, and peace returning to the home. On TikTok, Bandini explains in Spanish how he did it.
Bandini pointed out the need to consult local laws before imitating. In fact, it is illegal to own jamming devices in Switzerland, let alone operate them. In this country, a friendly word with your raggaeton-loving neighbor should still be the preferred method.
