The state government on Thursday said diplomats from countries such as the US, UK, Japan and Italy have expressed interest in attending the sixth edition of the Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), scheduled for April 20-21.
Ambassadors of Argentina, Consuls General of the United States, United Kingdom, Japan, Italy, Australia, Bhutan, Nepal and Thailand in West Bengal, and Honorary Consuls from many other countries attended an interactive meeting at the State Secretariat chaired by Chief Secretary Hong Kong. Dwivedi during the day.
“Ambassadors who attended the meeting showed great interest in attending BGBS 2022 and also indicated that they would join as BGBS 2022 partner countries,” the government said in a statement.
Diplomats from Italy, the Netherlands, Paraguay, Kenya, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Malaysia, Morocco and Slovenia also participated in the course.
The focus sectors include infrastructure, the service sector including education, healthcare, tourism, industries including small and medium businesses, agriculture and related sector, international trade, information technology, information technology, mining, oil and gas, the statement explained.
Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister and former Minister of Finance Dr. Amit Mitra almost attended the interactive meeting organized by West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation Limited (WBIDC) and FICCI.
The meeting was also attended by WBIDC Chairman Rajiva Sinha.
