Formula 1’s popularity has grown exponentially in recent years. The sport in particular has gained a lot of new fans in the United States. This growth is partly due to the successful Netflix series “Drive to Survive”. Formula One management has looked at more possibilities in recent years.
The Netflix series gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at the royal motorsport class. In recent years, there has also been a lot of criticism of the series, because its creators are actually quite creative. However, the series is one of the reasons for the growing popularity of the sport.
animation
FOM has also thought about another series about Formula 1. Media Director Ian Holmes spoke about it during the Blackbook Motorsport Forum in London: “We want people to be involved in our sport the way they want to. We want a show as wide as possible. Drive to Survive is an important part of that.” We also want to reach the kids, for example. We want to create an animated series. We want to do something with travel or something else. It has to have a link with Formula 1.”
interfaces
Holmes wants to reach as many fans as possible around the world. So, there is a good chance that sport will come with more forms of content: “But above all, we want as many interfaces with sport as possible. And we have to spread that from a fundamental point of view, as well as Drive and around it in order to survive. We must communicate. With fans who come from there.”
