Only 49 copies will be made, and the name could still be changed.
Say hello to UK-based Naran Automotive and their new creation called Naran. For starters, this car doesn’t follow the hybrid or all-electric trends we see from many new or existing car brands. The Naran comes equipped with a gas-guzzling 5.0-liter V8, which is located in front of the driver, though it’s located far enough back to be considered a mid-engine design. Naran Automotive says the engine is a custom design from Racing Dynamics, and with the help of twin turbos, it produces 1,048 horsepower. The all-wheel drive system sends power forward and backward, and is said to be able to propel the Hyper Coupe to 100 km/h in less than 3 seconds. The top speed is said to be “more than 368 km/h”.
However, power is not Naran’s only focus. The car attempts to offer the driver and passengers a GT3-like experience, and the motorsport-inspired double-wishbone suspension is a big part of that. You won’t find power steering either, and the carbon-ceramic brakes keep everything under control. To this end, the Narran’s aero package generates no less than 1,377 kilograms of downforce.
Overall, these are big claims for a brand-new startup, but the company has some experience to draw on. The lead designer is Jowyn Wong, the same guy responsible for the Apollo IE and De Tomaso P72. On the mechanical side, EY3 Engineering puts all the parts together and Daniel Meins, who worked on the ultra-fast Nio EP9, oversees everything.
