The Dutch hockey team, including Leiderdorp’s Jorit Kron, lost 3-1 to Germany this afternoon. In doing so, the Dutch finished fourth in the group and strong Australia is the opponent in Sunday’s quarter-finals.

The Orange team is playing a difficult Olympic tournament and therefore was unable to impress in the fifth and final match of the group stage. The Netherlands and Germany were already sure of getting a ticket in the quarter-finals, but the opponent was not decided yet from the last group match. As a result, this game was previously rated as “the hottest buff match to date”.
The Netherlands created few chances against Germany and at one point faced a 3-0 delay. In the last stage, the score was 3-1 with a goal from Jeroen Hertzberger. In the last minutes of the match, the Netherlands got a penalty, but the advice of Jorit Kroon was paid by the German goalkeeper.
The quarter-final matches against Australia will take place at 5 am on Sunday.
