President Trump explained Wednesday that he has a “very superior relationship” with Dr. Anthony Fauci, just several hours right after White Residence trade adviser Peter Navarro published a blistering op-ed criticizing the director of the Nationwide Institute of Allergy and Infectious Illnesses for his projections on the coronavirus pandemic.
“I get alongside pretty very well with Dr. Fauci,” Trump told reporters Wednesday in the Oval Workplace. “I have a quite very good partnership with Dr. Fauci.”

His reviews arrived right after Navarro tore into Fauci in a spectacular op-ed posted by United states of america Now.
“Dr. Anthony Fauci has a great bedside manner with the general public, but he has been completely wrong about all the things I have interacted with him on,” Navarro wrote.
Navarro commenced by indicating that Fauci “fought against” Trump’s “courageous decision” in late January to suspend flights from China as the novel coronavirus began to unfold, arguing that that decision “might properly have saved hundreds of 1000’s of American life.”
He continued: “When I warned in late January in a memo of a possibly fatal pandemic, the director of the Nationwide Institute of Allergy and Infectious Ailments was telling our information media not to fret.”
Even more, he wrote that in February, “Fauci was telling the public the China virus was very low danger.” Navarro went on to complain Fauci was “flip-flopping on the use of masks.”
