President Trump on Wednesday posted a photo of himself advertising and marketing Goya products from the Oval Place of work.
In the image, Trump is revealed seated at the rear of his desk and giving two thumbs-up. Exhibited ahead of him on the desk are Goya kidney beans, seasoning, white beans, coconut milk, and chocolate wafers.
Trump posted the image about 2 p.m. on Wednesday, as his daughter and White Household adviser Ivanka Trump confronted backlash for submitting a different photo of herself posing with a can of Goya beans.
“If it is Goya, it has to be very good,” reads a caption together with Ivanka Trump’s photograph, which was posted to her social-media accounts late Tuesday. The submit included a translation: “Si es Goya, tiene que ser bueno.”
Critics accused Ivanka Trump of violating federal ethics regulations that prohibit federal personnel from employing their positions “to endorse any product, support or company.”
The White House endorsements of Goya appear following the main govt of the company, Robert Unanue, praised Trump, expressing the US was “genuinely blessed” to have him as a chief. Unanue’s remarks encouraged phone calls for a boycott from Goya, as well as a counter-calls for Trump supporters to invest in additional of the beans.
