With Mark Hershey, Roy Costa and David de la Cruz, Emirates Airlines heads to the Tour of Switzerland. With Juan Sebastian Molano and Ryan Gibbons, the WorldTour formation also has two quick men behind, if there is a fast sprint somewhere for victory.
The 34-year-old Costa has fond memories of the Tour of Switzerland. The Florence World Champion has won the Swiss Cycling Tour three times (in 2012, 2013 and 2014) in his career and can name himself at the same time as cycling greats and three-time finalists Ferdi Kobler and Hugo Kubert.
However, seven years after his last win in Switzerland, Costa is no longer the outspoken leader within his squad. The Portuguese will have to share the lead with house rider Hershey and Spanish Tour rider de la Cruz. Hirschi appears to be heading for success on stage, while De la Cruz is secretly hoping for a good rating.

However, the UAE is also aiming for a quick victory in the upcoming Switzerland Tour, and thus decided to include Molano and Gibbons in the selection. Molano just came from Giroud, where he worked as a pilot for his compatriot Fernando Gaviria. Gibbons has been shining lately and won the Trofeo Calvia title a few weeks ago.
Colombian climber Christian Muñoz and Italian speed rider Oliviero Troia complete the UAE roster.
