Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection brings Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and The Lost Legacy to PC. ComputerBase analyzes the game technology, previously available exclusively on PlayStation, and provides benchmarks. First of all, readers can analyze image quality with and without DLSS / FSR.
The Uncharted series finds its way to PC for the first time
And let’s continue with Sony: After Spider-Man Remastered (beta) appeared on PC, the PlayStation-exclusive Uncharted series follows – from the current big single-player titles, only The Last of Us is already missing, which will nonetheless be coming to PC soon. What in the near future.
Uncharted is the Legacy of Thieves Collection, which hides behind the still existing parts of Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End and the associated standalone expansion of Uncharted: The Lost Legacy. Even if the games are from 2016 or 2017, they are still the current parts. While the console titles come from the legendary studio Naughty Dog, the PC version has been taken over by Iron Galaxy Studios. Successful studio Nixxes, known for PC transformations, which acquired the PC version of Spider-Man, is taking a breather this time.
While Uncharted: Legacy of Thieves Collection is optimized for current-generation PCs and consoles, the graphics are identical to the original games. You can see that in both games, but since Naughty Dog delivered very high-quality AAA work at the time, the optics have progressed nicely. No, Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves does not offer graphic benchmarks and moments of admiration. But the overall product is still quite consistent, despite the age, the graphics work very well.
Both FSR 2 and DLSS 2.4 are included
For this to work, Iron Galaxy ported the Naughty Dog engine to DirectX 12 and also installed some familiar features from the PC, such as unlimited frame rate. Also on board is AMD’s FSR 2 and Nvidia’s DLSS 2.x, so the two most important methods for collecting samples on a PC. Since FSR 2 is supported, no graphics card is left out, which is especially useful in Ultra HD. On the other hand, ray tracing is not supported.
Uncharted: The Legacy of Thieves Collection graphics list is relatively simple. There are a few individual graphics options and graphics presets, hence the FPS limiter, but it only blocks at 30fps. Apart from that, the FPS counter can be activated.
The game also offers its own upscaling and downscaling, and the display resolution can be adjusted between 50 and 200 percent in 10 percent increments. Here, however, it makes sense to use the provided AMD FSR 2 or Nvidia DLSS 2.4 instead – more on this on the next page. Sample screenshots or more detailed descriptions of the options are missing.
Graphics presets hardly make a difference
The four graphic presets Low, Medium, High, and Ultra have very little effect on graphic quality, with Ultra also representing the full level of detail. If you switch from “Ultra” to “High”, you will get a slightly stiffer shade and a slightly worse LOD. Apart from that, there are no significant differences.
When switching to Medium, the LOD becomes more aggressive, which then operates more clearly and makes visible objects appear more frequently from nowhere near the player. In addition, the details of the fabric are reduced. Otherwise the graphics look pretty much the same. Even in the “low” mode, not everything suddenly changes, although the LOD is already very annoying.

The benchmarks don’t show any significant differences in speed either. Even between the maximum UItra and the low minimum preset, the performance difference is just 16 percent on the Radeon RX 6900 XT, compared to 13 percent on the GeForce RTX 3080 Ti. There are only 11 and 9 percent between the “Intermediate” and “UItra” levels – this means that no meaningful adjustment can be made. If the frame rate is too low, the only thing that helps is lowering the resolution.
