In the third episode, viewers feel awkward when Andre tries to blow the horn. Either way, his looks put a smile on your face.
I’m thinking of horror… No Switzerland
After the great success it achieved Think of the Netherlands Andre van Duyne, Janie van der Heijden and their faithful companion Nhan return to appear on TV. This time they take you on an inspiring winter adventure through the snowy mountains of Switzerland. They trade Dutch waters for enchanting Alpine landscapes and choose to explore by train rather than boat. This way they can enjoy the beautiful nature sustainably.
Trumpet
In the third episode, Andre and Janie will try to blow the horn. This is an old Swiss tradition. It is a long, curved horn made of wood. People use it to make deep, beautiful sounds that you can hear in the mountains. It is often used by shepherds and people living in the mountains to communicate over long distances. It is a special instrument that you often see at parties and events in the Swiss mountains.
Training for horn players
In a chance encounter during their trip to the winter sports resort of Arosa, Andrei and Janie end up on the train next to a musician carrying an alphorn. He shares a little about this musical tradition and allows Andre to experiment with the whistle a little. Later in the episode, the duo join a trumpet rehearsal on a mountain in Arosa, where they have the opportunity to try out a real 3.5 meter trumpet.
Hilarious sounds
On Andre’s first attempt, a deep, beautiful sound emerges from the trumpet. Janie was impressed, but it quickly turned out to be beginner’s luck. Subsequent attempts were less smooth. Sometimes there is no sound or it sounds more like something comedic like farting than music. In short: it turned out to be much more difficult than expected.
