Volleyball – The Dutch volleyball players with Nova Maring from Assen leave for the Olympic Games in Paris feeling good. The team of national coach Felix Koslowski beat Switzerland 3-0 at the Sportcampus Zuiderpark in The Hague: 25-22, 25-11, 25-11.
The fourth set was played in this training match and also went to the Netherlands with a score of 25-16. A day earlier, the Dutch women in Apeldoorn were too strong for Switzerland, number 45 in the world, with a score of 4-0. The Orange are number 8 in the world.
Koslowski started the first and second sets with Brett Bongaerts (playmaker), Celeste Black (diagonal), Nika Dalderup and Julianne Knollema (passer/runner), Indi Biggins and Juliette Lohes (center) and Florine Resink (libero). In the third set it was Sarah Van Allen (playmaker), Elise Dambrink (diagonal), Marit Jasper and Nova Maring (passer/runner), Ellen Timmerman and Biggins (center) and Resink (libero).
The Netherlands will meet Turkey, Italy and the Dominican Republic in the group stage of the Olympic Games.
Marring was not included in the Olympic volleyball selection, nor was Laura Diekema of Belen. However, both will go to Paris. Diekema was added to the coaching staff due to an injury. Assense Marring comes in as a reserve.
