Panic in the streaming world: After Netflix, Disney+ now also has to use the harshest resources to keep the ship afloat. A cheaper advertising subscription is the first lifebuoy, but as with Netflix, this formula will not be launched in our country at the moment. On the contrary: you will soon have to pay more to stream top series like “The Bear” and “Andor”.
In recent months, Disney+ has lost more than 10 million subscribers, so the top executive decided Bob Iger To launch a cheaper subscription format with ads, just like bigger competitor Netflix. This already exists in the United States, but not yet in Europe. Starting November 1, as a Disney+ user in the UK, France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy, Spain, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, you’ll pay €5.99 for an ad subscription.
In Belgium, you cannot benefit from this useful formula at the moment, although it may become available in the future. In the meantime, you will have to pay a little more for your Disney+ subscription, because instead of 8.99 euros you will soon pay 10.99 euros (from November 1 for new customers, and from December 6 for existing customers).
Like Netflix, Disney+ now also offers the option to stop account sharing. However, it is not yet known when these measures will come into force and whether they will also apply in our country.
