Despite an unprecedented year of hurdles, this is one from Sault Ste. Longer-lived Mari traditions are returning in a completely new form. Rotary Club in Sault St. Mary of the Virtual Rotaryfest, streaming on SooToday.
“Our Rotary Club has been celebrating the Rotary Festival for nearly 100 years – so when it turned out that it couldn’t happen the way it always has been, we knew we had to find a creative way to keep bringing in some fun from the Salt Saint Mary festival.” The Rotary Club at Sault Ste. Mary the President, Megan Wigmore. “With the default format this year, we’re not only going to see some of our favorite local bands and performers becoming festival sticks; we’ll have to bring in some ex-Soltists to join the party too!”
One of these ex-Sultans is the Shuanda Crystal. The JUNO Award-winning Canadian singer will top the virtual event with an exclusive performance for Rotaryfest. The online music celebration will include performances from crowd favorites: Jay Case, Frank Dereste, Jackson Reed, Mustang Hart, Kelly McGillivray, KT Antler, Kyle McKee, Bonnie Yard and Tyson Hans.
