The Dutch Grand Prix is fast approaching, and the popular dune race is paving the way for Formula 1’s return after the summer break. Not everyone can attend, but fortunately the race can be watched for free on TV for all Dutch people. How exactly? We’ll explain.
Since 2022, the broadcast rights for Formula 1 have been owned by Viaplay, a Swedish streaming service belonging to the Viaplay Group. Previously, the Formula 1 Grand Prix was always shown on Ziggo Sport, but now you can just go to this sports channel for summaries and analysis. To be able to follow the top-flight races live, you will also need a Viaplay subscription in 2024. In addition to Formula 1, you can also watch other sports live, such as darts and football. If you are really interested in F1, you can also opt for a (cheaper) subscription to F1 TV Pro, the official streaming service for the sport.
Where can you watch the Dutch Grand Prix for free?
However, fans who are only interested in the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort need not worry or search for an illegal live stream. The race on the dunes can be watched for free on the public network for Dutch people without a ticket. NOS is kind enough to broadcast Max Verstappen for free on the public network as he seeks a third consecutive win in Zandvoort. The Dutch Grand Prix can be watched for free on the public channel from 3:00 pm on Sunday, August 25. For now, this is the last time: this agreement is only fixed until 2024. Therefore, the last Dutch Grand Prix in 2025 will not be broadcast live – as it currently is.
