The West Indies will play three ODI matches against the Netherlands between May 31 and June 4 during their first-ever tour of the country.
All three matches will take place at the VRA Cricket Ground in Amstelveen.
The three matches are part of the ODI Football Super League, as the two teams try to accumulate points to qualify for the 2023 Men’s Cricket World Cup.
Cricket West Indies (CWI) and the Royal Dutch Cricket Board (KNCB) announced the series on Friday.
“KNCB is pleased to welcome the Netherlands West Indies cricket team. The last time the team visited our country was in 1991, in two 55-match friendlies, attended by Richards, Heinz, Ambrose and Marshall.”
He added, “These matches will be the Dutch national team’s second home cricket world championship, and we are looking forward to a fantastic Caribbean-style competition.”
“We have worked closely with colleagues from KNCB to put together this series right after the IPL and are delighted that we can now announce the schedule,” said CWI CEO Johnny Grieve.
He added, “It will be exciting to tour the Netherlands for the first time. It’s a short tour, but we are expecting a lot of entertainment during what promises to be a great week with quality cricket for fans in Holland.”
