Additional parliamentary cabinet
Since December, Peil.nl has been wondering how people respond to certain results from the profile. The reaction to the formation of an extra-parliamentary government (some of which includes professionals from foreign policy) is always the same. About 40% of Dutch people find it an acceptable outcome for shaping, 30% are neutral about it and 30% are unacceptable. That was also the result this month.
This is a general overview for those who do not find acceptance of the party choice in the House of Representatives elections. This is what VVD and PVV voters think the most. Voters in NSC, Volt, PvdD and ChristenUnie at least think so.
When is the new government?
In December and February, people were asked when they expected a new government to be formed. In December, 72% still expected this to happen before July 1, 2024. That number is now 37%.
Estimates vary widely depending on the voting option on November 22, 2023.
About half of BBB and PVV voters believe there will be a new government before July 1. This is nearly 40% among VVD and NSC voters. PvdA/GroenLinks, D66 and SP voters believe it is only 20%.
When are the new elections?
Finally, during that period, people were asked several times when the next House of Representatives elections were expected to be held. In December, 21% still thought it would happen again this year. This is now 30%.
Only 15% expect that the next House of Representatives elections will not be held before 2027, after the end of the 4-year term.
40% of Freedom Party voters expect new elections to be held this year. This is the quarter among VVD, NSC and PvdA/GroenLinks voters. The least is the case among D66 voters (11%).
