Emojis allow you to express emotions in chats. If you want to show yourself more clearly, you can now use Avatar – Custom Emoji.
In the WhatsApp messenger, avatars can now also be used as stickers in chats. Users can also use their avatar as a WhatsApp profile picture if they don’t want to show a real picture of themselves there or want to remain anonymous, WhatsApp’s parent Meta reported.
Many basic avatar types can be customized with many features from hairstyles to clothing. It is then possible to create a set of 36 custom stickers that show your avatar with different emotions or actions. Meta wants to keep working on patterns, light, shadows, and textures for the graphics.
Avatar, Memoji, or AR Emoji
Users also encounter virtual actors elsewhere: Apple introduced them long ago as Memojis for its news app and Facetime.
The same goes for Samsung’s AR emoji: on many South Korean smartphones, the camera can capture key features of one’s face such as eyes, nose, mouth, cheeks, and forehead and use that information to create a 3D avatar.
