A new feature recently introduced by the service aims to solve the problem.

Searching endless chats for old messages can be a time-consuming task. WhatsApp has realized this user issue and has introduced an improvement that makes it easier to find previous messages quickly. According to a report by Smartdroid, the Messenger app now lets you search for messages using a specific date.

WhatsApp is using its search function and expanding it to include a date filter. If you remember the date of a particular message, the search will take you directly to the corresponding day in the chat. This innovation represents a significant time saving and makes searching for news more convenient.

No more screenshots of profile pictures

But the messaging service not only introduces this new functionality, it also eliminates another. Android users in particular are being affected by this measure at the moment. The blog “WABetaInfo” reports that WhatsApp beta version 2.24.4.25 blocks the ability to take screenshots of other users' profile photos (>>> all details here). The background is data protection.
