Asylum and immigration are the Freedom Party's hobby during election campaigns. Now that the Party for Freedom has begun to pull the strings in the new government that will be formed, the ball, if it is up to the leader of the Party for Freedom, Dylan Yeşilgoz, is in Geert Wilders' court.
In Op1, the VVD leader said she would not find it very surprising that the Party for Freedom would appoint a minister to the post of Asylum and Migration Minister. According to Yeşilgoz, they have not yet discussed the matter at the negotiating table.
RTL News political correspondent Floor Bremer understands Yeşilgoz's reaction, she says on WNL In de Kantine on NPO Radio 1. “They have of course been providing the ministers with immigration and asylum services for the last 12 years.”
Bremer believes the FPO believes the FPO should put its money where its mouth is. “You saw during this election campaign, when immigration was a big issue, that they also received the same response from you: things have gone completely wrong among you. They (VVD, ed.) now have something like this: show the PVV that they can do it.” in a different way.

Who then?
But the question is who the Freedom Party will appoint to the position of minister. Wilders' party has only one member, Geert Wilders himself. “Wilders may ask people from the outside, but I think he should also look at what it actually means for the FPÖ,” Bremer says. Almost his entire list is now in the House of Representatives.
The political translator continues: “Who is left of the Freedom Party if you cannot become a member of the party?” Then it might be someone he finds a sympathetic party. Is this a member of the PVV party? I don't know. Or is he the one who provides all these experts.”
