Jeremy Bukela’s probationary period with Movie 2 proved successful. The 33-year-old striker has been on trial for the past two weeks and appears to have made enough impression during that time, as he will sign a contract with the Tilburgers.
Bukela has a diverse crew of clubs on his resume. In the past 15 years he has been a contractor with AGOVV Apeldoorn, Zulte Waregem (Belgium), Sparta Rotterdam, Petrolul Ploiesti (Romania), Terek Grozny (Russia), Guangzhou R&F (China), Eskisehirspor (Turkey), Al-Kharatiyat (Qatar), Akhisar Belediyespor (Turkey), CFR Cluj, Dinamo Bucharest (both Romania), Hatayspor, Keçiörengücü (both Turkey) and Oakland Roots SC (US). He also maintained his status for a while at Belgian club KVV Thes Sport.
Two weeks ago, the transfer-free footballer settled in Tilburg, looking for a contract. He played 150 minutes in the three exhibition games so far: against RKDSV, Sarto and UDI’19 and scored three times (two penalties, one header). Bukela also made a positive impression in the training sessions. “This is a great opportunity for me,” he recently told this newspaper. Who wouldn’t want to play with Willem II? I’m of a certain age, and I know that. But I haven’t finished enjoying football yet. And so I’m willing to work hard here every day.”
This seems to have paid off now, because Bukela has been caught before Tricolores† Foreign sources reported that the striker will sign a one-year contract with an option for another year. Bukela will be his seventh possession of the summer after goalkeeper Joshua Smits, defenders Thibaut Leskoye, Lucas Woodenberg and Eric Schotten, midfielder Matthias Firth and striker Nick Dodman.
On Wednesday evening, Movie 2 – If All Goes Well With Bukela – will play the next practice match: At 7 pm, the visit to Patro Esden (in Masschelen in Belgium) will begin.
