Prince William has been commissioned by Apple to create a special Christmas episode of Time to Walk, the walking workout for Apple Fitness+. The episode, in which the British prince shares personal stories and his favorite hiking music, will be available from December 6.
With Time to Walk, Apple wants to encourage people to walk. Users are voice-guided by celebrities as they walk, as well as hear personal stories that inspire them to walk more. William is said to have contacted Apple because he relates to his efforts to improve mental health and wellness.
William wrote on Instagram that walking has always been a part of his life “for better or worse”. “For me, it provides an opportunity to clear my mind and gain some perspective. It’s an important part of how I manage my mental health,” said William, who has chosen three charities to which Apple will donate. These are Shout in the United Kingdom and Crisis Text Line in the United States and Lifelin in Australia, all organizations that provide assistance to people in crisis situations.
Psychological health
During his career, he will tell Prince about the importance of staying mentally fit. Apple announced Friday that he’s also sharing why the topic is so important to him and going back with the listener to a moment when he was largely taken out of his comfort zone. William also chose three of his favorite songs for the occasion and explained why they were so important to him.
Other celebrities who have collaborated on the Time to Walk series include singer Dolly Parton, singer Shawn Mendes, actress Uzu Aduba, journalist Anderson Cooper and singer Nick Jonas. Prince William’s episode is the final episode of season two.
