Getting your last year of school back is somewhat impossible, but it is a sure wish for some dreamers who feel they have lost something at the time. However, for Stephanie Conway (Rebel Wilson), this is a requirement: She fell into a coma sometime around 2000 after she (actress Angourie Rice from East Town mare Plays the younger version of Conway) ends up getting unlucky during the cheerleading stunt. When she woke up two decades later, she was 17 years old in a 37-year-old’s body. Yes, it all seems pointless, but Graduation Year You shouldn’t have a lot of critical viewers. But especially for fans of movies like ignorant (1995) and songs like Avril Lavigne’s Sk8er Boi.
The movie is a great excuse to host dear creators – sweet American pop culture from the mid-’90s to the 2000s. And of course the movie is also a reference to freaky friday (2003), in which a mother and daughter exchange their bodies. Although Conway soon comes to the conclusion that her fate is something tragic: after all, she has been steadfast for 20 years. So it needs an update on customs and ethics. What can you say? What not? This results in cute scenes, like when Conway sees a smartphone: “Hey, is this a small TV?”

Another strange and insignificant aspect of the story is that Conway once immigrated from Australia to the United States. For Wilson to be able to smile in Australian, that seems to be the only argument. The question arises of how resistant this kind of fanatical comedy is in high school. It’s always about the superficiality of being famous. Teens, or in this case their thirties, always want to be famous, to be seen. It happens in Graduation Year Also without the irony that you constantly find, for example, in a series like pen 15: This comedy is also about high school nostalgia, but it deals with this topic in a smarter way.
And above all: Is Rebel Wilson really funny? Was it before?
